FOR LEGAL PROFESSIONALS · PRODUCT DIRECTION

File, research and deadline tracking in the same work.

Product direction · not offered yet

A lawyer's work is not only drafting. The facts in a file, statute and case-law research, the other side's claims, deadlines and the division of work inside the team all depend on each other.

Lawyers, law firms, in-house legal units and file teams.

What a practice actually needs

Fact and claim get mixed

Which document a fact rests on and which claim it carries must be visible separately.

Research is detached from the file

Statute and case-law research accumulates elsewhere and never binds to the relevant part of the file.

Deadlines are tracked separately

Deadlines and hearings live in another table; when something changes the related work is not updated.

Handover inside the team is hard

Whoever takes over the file has to reconstruct what was done and why.

The confidentiality boundary must be clear

File access must stay with authorized team members; being a manager does not mean reading every file.

The work MMT would take on

It binds the information in the file, the research and the work performed into one record; it takes on preparation and compilation and leaves legal judgment to the lawyer.

Builds the fact–document–claim link

Which document and which fact each claim rests on stays visible.

Binds research to the file

When a retrieved source is read, its verification state is recorded and bound to the relevant part of the file.

Keeps deadlines with the work

Deadline and stage sit in the file's own record; a change affects the related work.

Makes handover easier

Because the reasons for decisions and the work done are recorded, whoever takes over does not start from zero.

Limits access to the team

File visibility is set at participant or unit level.

Example: reviewing contract changes

Illustrative example; not a real file or client matter.

  1. The lawyer adds the contract versions to review and writes the question.
  2. MMT extracts the differences between versions and lists which clauses changed.
  3. Each change is flagged as a question about possible risk; no legal conclusion is issued.
  4. The lawyer decides which clauses take priority.
  5. Relevant statute and case-law research binds to the same file; an unread source is never support.
  6. The prepared note and the reason for the decision stay in the file; when a colleague takes over, the history is visible.

The concrete records the file keeps

What would be read on screen once it opens

This area is not open yet and gives no legal advice. The example below is the intended record format.

case_summary.md — the intended format
Matter: an eviction clause in a lease · parties: example A and example B
Documents: the lease (2023), two notices, 14 payment receipts.
Timeline found: lease → first notice → payment → second notice.
Conflict: the second notice appears dated before one of the receipts. Flagged.
Legal assessment and strategy belong to the lawyer; the product lays out documents and dates.
document_list.csv — three rows
document,date,source,pages
lease.pdf,2023-06-01,client,1-6
notice_2.pdf,2024-02-11,other_party,1

What a version difference would look like

As new documents enter the matter, the summary takes a new version.

When a document is added

The timeline and the conflict list are derived again; the old version is not deleted.

When a flag is removed

Who removed it and why is written into the record.

Where the decision stays with the lawyer

Legal assessment, strategy, advice to the client and any statement submitted belong to the lawyer. MMT gives no legal opinion and guarantees no outcome; it takes on compilation, comparison and tracking.

What you keep

  • Fact, document and claim connections
  • Research sources and their verification state
  • Deadline and stage records
  • The reason for each decision and who made it
  • File history that survives a handover
Status in this releaseThe legal product is not offered by subscription yet. The shared foundation under controlled evaluation: adding documents and files, work records, decisions and history, access and unit rules. Real access to statute and case-law sources requires separate authority and agreements; no ready integration is offered. Access depends on account permissions. Public sales are not open.
