Collaboration must not scatter
When several people work on the same study, decisions, data and versions must stay in one place.
MMT ORBIT ACADEMIA · INSTITUTIONAL USE
Inside an institution the real work is still the research: the question is sharpened, the data and method decisions are made, and results and sources are recorded. Membership, units, roles and access rules are added on top so that work does not scatter. Work begun in a personal account can continue in the organization space once access is granted.
Research offices, institute and faculty management, laboratories and research groups, graduate programmes.
When several people work on the same study, decisions, data and versions must stay in one place.
Unit and role decide who can see what. Being an administrator does not mean reading every private study.
The institution sees usage and membership state; private research content is not part of that view.
Ownership and handover run on the record; when access is removed, prepared outputs and work still waiting to run are preserved.
Graduate programmes and laboratories are defined as units in the same structure.
The organization space does not change the research itself; it adds membership, units, roles and access rules on top. A researcher moves between their personal space and the organization space within their authority.
Members are invited and bound to units and roles; changes are written to the audit trail.
Visibility for each study and connected source is set at participant, unit or organization level.
Usage and membership state are visible; private research content never opens to an administrator by itself.
Personal work can be explicitly shared with or transferred to the institution; nothing moves silently.
An export covers only what the requesting person can see at that moment; if their access changes, a package prepared earlier no longer counts and has to be prepared again.

membership_and_units
Members, units, roles and change dates.
access_policy
Visibility for each study and source: participant, unit or organization.
audit_trail.csv
Who changed what and when; the action, never the content.
scoped_export.zip
An export bounded by what the requester may see at that moment.
In an institutional space the research itself comes first; membership and access sit around it. These are shortened examples and belong to no real institution.
Study: wear resistance of a thin-film coating · stage: waiting for a method decision Owner: the researcher · unit: Materials Science Laboratory · visibility: unit Open decision: accelerated wear testing or field sampling? The data each one needs is listed. An institution administrator sees the status of this study, not its content.
Who transferred, who received, the date and the transferred scope are written in one record. The person transferring chooses what goes over: files one by one; a summary of outputs and decisions as an optional handover file. The records themselves stay in the source; nothing moves silently.

A change on the institution side never deletes the research history.
When a researcher leaves
Ownership and transfer run on the record; prepared outputs and work still waiting to run are kept and access is removed.
When visibility is narrowed
The new scope applies from that moment on; an export prepared earlier counts as stale and is requested again.
When membership ends
Records and versions stay readable; only new cost-bearing work stops.
Who becomes a member, in which unit they work, which study is shared with the institution and when access is removed are decisions for the authorized person. The scientific decision still belongs to the researcher.
The same product your researchers use, with your institution's access rules on top.
